Council Priorities & Performance

Our vision is that by 2020 the Maidstone borough will be one of the best places in the South East to live, lead by a high-achieving authority renowned for its innovation.

To support this vision the Council has identified six strategic priorities:

  • A healthy environment
  • Sustainable communities
  • Prosperity
  • Lifelong learning
  • Quality living
  • Quality, decent homes that people can afford

The Council also has six core values which are key to everything we do.  We always STRIVE to deliver services in accordance with these values:

  • Superb customer service
  • Teamwork
  • Responsibility for delivering on our promises
  • Integrity and high standards of corporate governance
  • Value for money and efficiency
  • Equality within a diverse organisation.

Our strategic priorities and core values are set out in detail in our Strategic Plan 2008-11. The business planning section has more information on the Strategic Plan and other key plans and strategies.
